The room was located in a building which is quite central to downtown, with most of the attractions reachable on foot within 15-20mins and downtown in about 5 mins. The highlight for me at this stay was the staff, who were all very friendly and helpful. I met three different staff members manning the reception and one of the cleaning staff, and all of them were great.
The room itself was comfortable with a private bathroom. Well-sized, and the bed was also quite comfortable. I had a great stay.

Room was very basic but clean, bed was surprisingly comfortable.
Located in a small side street in the center of Madrid, which is good for walking around but it was EXTREMELY noise - both from the street (the small street is like an echo chamber) and you could hear your neighbours. Mine thought it was fun to have a loud belching / burbing contest with himself for a good hour... Terribly sound proofing.
The owner is not the nicest person in the world... we had a misunderstanding which then become a "spat" over the parking (i questioned the 6 euros price increase over the price available online and he got offended), but in the end it worked out wonderfully as I found free parking around the corner. :) The spat was less significant than the unprofessionalism of the owner.
