Welcome to the quiet leafy hills outside Old Town. Would definitely stay again.
I had initially considered staying in Old Town as that is where much of my family related sightseeing was to take place (my Umpteenth great grandfather was city architect for Danzig for a couple of decades beginning in the late 1500s so it was sure tempting), but am so glad I chose this quiet enclave near the medical school. (Once you've walked the Old Town streets at night a few times, as a male 'tourist', you may tire of the constant invitations to experience the ladies 'ready for your every fantasy').
For an average Uber trip of 12 to 15 PLN I was able to commute to and from Old Town to the hushed, hilly and tall-treed leafy ambience of the Kashubian Highlands (known in Polish as Pojezierze Kaszubskie or simply Kaszuby). This elevated, forested moraine landscape frames the entire western side of the city (whereas the old town is down on the flat delta region). The only 'ladies' in this quiet area, thank goodness, are among the students commuting on foot to and from classes at the medical school nearby.
Ten minutes away, just adjacent the MUG campus, there's a handy Carrefour Express (ul. Marii Skłodowskiej-Curie 3) -- a surprising well stocked little grocery, down a few stairs at ground level in a larger building. Another Carrefour outlet, this one a detached single floor brick and glass structure just 100 metres away on the other side of the same building, offers, I think, a smaller selection.
If you're staying during cool weather (which can be anytime of year) the radiators in each room (this is a note for North Americans) are quick and responsive to dialing in your preferred heat level (each room has glass french doors so you can keep each radiator at whatever comfort level you prefer). I would always turn them down when leaving for a few hours as I'm sympathetic to high energy costs in the EU.
Awesome kitchen & bath. Nice balcony. Comfortable mattress on ikea style sprung wood slat (standard fare).

pleasant environment, almost no communication from the host
Pleasant, quiet surroundings. Comfortable, spacious apartment. A shop is 500m away, and the tram stop is 700m away.
The host does not speak English, nor much Polish. I had to message him several times just to get a reply during the booking process. Upon arrival, his son greeted me, and I had to ask him to show me the apartment. The kitchen was acceptable. Bathroom: there was only one small towel. The bed was comfortable, but the TV was very small and had only Polish channels. The remote control ran out of battery, and I didn't get a replacement despite asking! The host was unreachable at checkout, so I didn't know what to do with the key. Very poor communication—almost non-existent—even though I wrote in Polish!

Completely recommend the property for a short visit to Gdansk.
The property is about 10 minutes walk from the tram, which takes 5 minutes to the centre of town. The area is residential and quiet. The hosts were helpful and nice.
As I was self-catering, it would have been even better if there were a supermarket a bit closer.

Duze nowoczesne mieszkanko 10 min od tramwaju
Właścicielka pomocna i dobry z nia kontakt
Fajne duze mieszkanko (wejscie na tylach domu) w ladnej spokojnej okolicy
Wygodne lozko
Prysznic duzy i z dobrym ciśnieniem wody
Jest kawa herbata i cukier
Dostepna spora ilosc ksiazek
*Lokalizacja niby dobra , ale do tramwaju jest 10 min pieszo (co jest ok, tylko ze pod górkę) na szczęście uber jest tani
*Brak sklepu do ktorego moznaby podejść
*Lazienka potrzebuje wieszakow i polki w kabinie prysznicowej
