I had a fantastic stay at Top Twelve. The place was extremely clean and comfortable, the food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help.
And the views are simply out of this world, waking up to that landscape every day was unforgettable.
I had an amazing time in Lalibela, and staying here was definitely part of what made the experience so special. I would happily stay again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lalibela!

The ambience and beautiful views and amazing owner and his team.
Decor was so beautiful
Didn’t realise that no toiletries - long time since last I wash my hair with lifebouy soap

The room and hotel view was incredible! Rooms were comfortable and nicely designed. The owner Eshetu and his daughter were wonderful and very warm. Very flexible and caring and treated us like family. Nice shop where we bought incredible souvenirs.
Nothing. I loved my entire experience. Just one thing... Don't expect luxury.. Lalibela is a small village. Lights go off, limited menu, no night life etc. Visit for the Churches and the overall experience.

Beautiful decorations inside, completely quiet at night, and great view.
Tour guide Tege for the churches very knowledgeable & patient, even took me to the special Commemoration of the Cross event early one morning.
Location is a bit farther from town, but that’s a given in order to have the view.
The tours offered by the hotel are highly overpriced. Do make sure to negotiate.
The most important negative point - the staff gives very mixed/contradictory information about the advisability of doing the activities outside of town or not. What I found, is that as of March 2026 after many rounds of unpleasant conversations with them, is it is still not recommended, due to security situation. There were Many contradictory statements from them that overall made me feel very uncomfortable with how the team is managed there & knowledge of customer service seems uneven at best.
