The staff was so incredibly kind and personable! They were interested, asked questions and shared information about the location and activities. The tours were well guided and the food was great!

Lovely location on the water. This is a simple establishment with rustic huts and decking for sun beds and access to the sea. There are reasonably priced excursions including snorkelling and bioluminescence tours daily. The walk to the local village is 15 mins through the mangroves and the lovely ( but busy) playa libre beach a further 10 mins walking. Staff at El Hamaquero are friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant ( independently run to the resort) is reasonably priced for the island and the Cartagena area. Bora Bora the beach club next door plays music from 10-4pm but we didn’t find this annoying.
There are a lot of mosquitoes so definitely bring bug spray. Our mosquito nets help at night.

Great location but had to leave island sooner
There was a festival rave on the island that ruined our first night so we cancelled the second night got a 50% refund. Would not of gone. Staff should of notified us before arrival and then again on arrival. No sleep until noise stopped at 2am.
