The hotel is located close to a metro station. It was very easy to reach Taksim and the historic center. There is a lively street near the metro station with shops and restaurants. The room was calm, spacious and clean. The bathroom was very convenient, nice towels. Comfortable bed. Complimentary tea, coffee and pastry upon arrival. Breakfast was abundant, healthy and varied, although a bit below the usual Turkish standards. Food is so amazing in Turkey, it seems hard for hotels to keep up! There is a lot of colorful artwork in the hotel lobby. The staff was very nice and helpful. A gentleman at reception made every effort to make sure we were comfortable and helped us get a competitive rate for our ride back to the airport. In all, decent value for money considering how expensive Istanbul is.
Some details could be improved. The TV remote did not work. We asked for replacement, but new batteries did not fix the issue and we were told the whole TV set would be changed the next day, which was our departure day. We also had issues turning lights on and off. There were multiple switches for the same lamps, some of witch did not work well. We kept trying multiple switches but lights seemed to go on and off randomly. One night it took us about 10 minutes to finally turn all the lights off. We had a good laugh with my husband, but this should really be fixed. Finally there was a smell coming out of the shower. Nothing too disturbing and probably due to piping issues that hotel staff cannot easily fix. It was raining a lot during our stay, so that might explain it...

Our experience at Arts Hotel Harbiye was mostly positive in terms of comfort and cleanliness. We were particularly impressed by Mr. Yilmaz's attentiveness and care. Also the location is super nice very well connected in a great spot. Breakfast was also very diverse and tasty.
We unfortunately overheard some staff members making negative comments about the hotel management and its guests, which made for a somewhat uncomfortable experience. Also, although the Sauna was nice, the turkish bath room smelled very bad like sewerage.
