Beautiful views and great location to the beach. Very helpful and kind staff
Room Firefly needed renovations. Front door has large gap to the floor. Mice and bugs could easily enter. Windows when locked shut have big gaps that allow mosquitos and other flying insects to easily enter. Restaurant is perfectly located but prices are so high for very little food. Bathroom is very cramped.

We had such a lovely stay at Castara Retreats. The room was beautiful and the view was absolutely amazing — waking up to it every day was definitely one of the highlights. We loved relaxing in the hammock and the whole setting felt peaceful and special.
Our absolute favourite part of the stay, though, had to be Stella the cat! She welcomed us when we arrived and basically stayed with us for our entire stay. At one point we started to think it was actually her room and she was just allowing us to stay there 😂. She genuinely made our stay even more memorable.
The reception staff were also wonderful, especially Zoe, who was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Overall, the accommodation and setting were everything we hoped they would be.
Unfortunately, the restaurant service really let the experience down for us. We found the customer service from some of the restaurant staff quite poor and, at times, rude. When trying to order food or drinks, we often felt as though we were bothering them rather than being welcomed as guests. There were occasions where we were simply looked at and not acknowledged, and several times we actually had to get up from our table before anyone would attend to us.
The overall impression was that some of the staff didn’t particularly want to be there, and unfortunately that made us feel uncomfortable using the restaurant.
This was particularly disappointing because we were celebrating my partner’s birthday and it was his first visit to my home country, Tobago, so I had really wanted the stay to feel special. We had originally planned to eat at the restaurant throughout our stay because of how convenient it was, but after our experience we chose to eat elsewhere and even cook for ourselves instead.
It’s such a shame because everything else about Castara Retreats was lovely, and the reception team were great. With warmer and more attentive service in the restaurant, our experience would have been completely different.
