The breakfast and food was excellent. The staff were lovely and friendly. The location is beautiful, it is immediately next to the canal with fields on the opposite side, so the view from my hotel room was fabulous. The water pressure was good, so you could have a decent shower.
I was not a fan of the coffee personally. The room had unknown brand instant coffee sachets, which is fine, but when I went down to breakfast, they had the same sachets, which were not particularly nice coffee. I'm guessing the owners may be tea drinkers, as the single sachet tea servings were Yorkshire Tea, which is lovely tea. I would've preferred real coffee at breakfast ideally.

Good location for us, very good price. You get what you pay for and it does the job. Wouldn't go booking a holiday here but for one night it was absolutely fine. Would come back again, in hopes that things have been tidied up a bit. Also the car park is now free - you can validate your parking in reception - and there were plenty of spaces.
The room was in a fair state of disrepair. Curtain holder falling out the wall, skirting board cracked and falling off, shower was quite mouldy, lots of spiders, wallpaper peeling, and cracks in the walls. There wasn't a loo roll in the room when we arrived - but reception was very friendly and didn't delay getting one to us. The bed is also VERY firm. The noise from party bookings does travel, but because we were expecting this is it wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. A few small repairs and updates and a quick check of each room before check in could easily move this from an 'alright for a stopover' place to a 'would happily spend a week here' place.
