Although this was a very nice hotel with wonderful staff etc. there was an underlying problem -
The room had an intermittent smell of sewerage, not when we arrived but hours into our stay, at first we opened the windows and it cleared. Came back later and it had re-appeared, again we opened the windows. We mentioned this on check out, there was also some wet staining on the oak flooring and adjacent wall. I would hope this was all dealt with prior to the next occupants arriving.

Exceptional restored property
Our room on the first floor was subject to people walking about in the rooms above.

Two night stay. Staff very helpful. Restaurant closed on arrival night but Julian swiftly arranged a booking at a local excellent restaurant plus taxi. Interesting rooms though a little dark (Eden). Very enjoyable pool, superb breakfast. A lovely relaxed vibe about the whole place. Second night restaurant was open for an exceptional ‘surprise’ menu.
Nothing of note
