Ella Planters Bungalow

I absolutely loved my stay at The Planter’s Bungalow and hated to leave! The Lower Apartment was clean and comfortable, the staff were consistently friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious. What made this place so special for me was the view. The full-length wall of sliding glass windows meant I could lie in bed and look straight out at the beautiful landscape, or step onto the balcony with my morning coffee and watch the sunrise. The sky was constantly changing, from brilliant sunshine to dramatic, stormy clouds, all over a serene landscape. It was exactly the setting I had hoped to find for a longer stay near Ella. Breakfast was included and always varied. With a choice of tea or French press coffee with milk, I particularly enjoyed being able to alternate between the two. Fresh drinking water was always readily available. The grounds were immaculate, and the swimming pool area looked very inviting. A couple of practical tips for longer stays: the kitchenette provides tea but no instant coffee, so bring your own if you prefer it. If you like milk in your coffee or tea, consider bringing some boxed milk to keep in the fridge, as the in-room supply is dried non-dairy creamer packets. The combination of the beautiful setting, comfortable accommodation, delicious food, and genuinely helpful staff made this a wonderful place to settle in and relax. I couldn’t have asked for a better setting for my time in Ella. I would happily return.

Beautifully maintained property, exceptional gardens. Loved hearing birdsong and watching monkeys and even peacocks in the trees. Saw a huge eagle circling overhead one day. Staff were exceptionally warm, friendly and helpful. Food was awesome - both western and Sri Lankan. We stayed with 2 kids who both really enjoyed it. It’s near Ravana adventure park and the blue cave trips. 20 mins out of Ella.

Slightly dubious WiFi intermittently. For us we might’ve been better situated in Ella for various reasons but this is on us not the property.

Very unique setting. Great staff. Lovely pool and garden.

The property has incredible views - you are in the middle of the nature. The staff was very humble and their service was very excellent. They did everything they could to make sure the stay was comfortable. Several workers were busy making sure the lawn and property was clean on the outside in the morning.

The place is very far from the city. It is a a house converted to rent. The bathroom was not very clean - had some mold issues. The juice served was stale. decorations were tasteful but there is a lot to be desired from the property.
