One night stay in Charlton, and as some reviews state although the exterior of the motel is dated we found the unit we stayed in was very clean and reasonably freshly painted. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure strong and hot water instant.
It's about 10 minute walk into town and had a very good meal at the cricket club hotel. The Travellers rest area beside the Avoca river was also clean and well presented.
Would definitely stay here again when up this way. Very approachable and nice staff member.

Very clean
The staff waited for us to arrive even though it was past their time
Very neat and tidy
Even though it was close to the main road you didn’t hear the noise or other cars coming and going
