The Kings Head Wroxham by Greene King Inns

This hotel was in a great location, although the village of Wroxham/Hoveton is not large and everything within walking distance. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was substantial.

There wasn’t anything to really dislike. The staff were excellent with maybe one exception. The restaurant was fully booked due to a football game Saturday night and with the weather wild with strong winds and lashing rain not an evening for venturing outside. I asked seeing as how there was no dining space available if I could order a meal and take it to my room. A waiter checked and I was told, obviously by the chef, NO. Being a guest I thought he/she could have acquiesced to my request. It left a poor taste in my mouth but other than that the Kings Head is definitely to be recommended.

Great location, friendly and attentive staff. Room, while modest was very clean, modern and fit for purpose. We felt the quality of the room exceeded expectations. The breakfast and dinner was really good value and tasty. Free parking.

The rooms need more light. One light only is not enough. Bedside lights would easily resolve that issue. The bathroom was lovely and clean but my god the toilet seat was the most uncomfortable one I/we have ever sat on. It was actually torture. The card access door which separates pub from rooms did not close all the time. Found it open every time we went to out rooms. From a security point of view we didn't like this. We ate at the pub each night and while the quality was great there were many items unavailable by the second night. On the third night I was not able to have my first choice draft beer, starter, main or pudding. I thought this was a shame and a bit poor on planning.

Great Location

Restaurant food was average

The location

I feel that the room that we were given was actually a small double, although we booked a double, which is more expensive. Very small room, and each time adjoining rooms turned the water on you could hear it in our bathroom. Didn't eat in the pub, as very long queues at the bar . Sadly one of the mornings we waited over an hour after we ordered our breakfast, and unfortunately the nice guy had forgotten to put the order in!
