Bed was comfortable, staff were nice, breakfast was very good

It's a very quaint place to stay.
Very accommodating dealing with late arrival due to flight delays. Thank you for that.

A bit too much of an assault on the senses visually with all the beautiful furniture and ornaments on show.

The breakfast was lovely and the house itself has a nice, homely feel. It was fine for a one night stay and the location was convenient.
think the photos online gave me the impression that it would be a little nicer than it actually was. The room I stayed in was very dated, and unfortunately the windows couldn't be opened, so there was no way to get some fresh air into the room.
There was also no tea or coffee making facility in the room. After a really long day, all I wanted was a cup of tea, but when I asked, I was told that guests generally go across the road for food. I would have really appreciated being able to make a simple cup of tea in the room.
There was also a stray cat wandering into the house looking for food. While I appreciate that this may seem harmless to some, combined with the overall condition and age of the property, it did make me question the hygiene standards.
The breakfast itself was lovely, and I appreciate that this is an older guest house, but overall it just wasn't for me and I wouldn't stay again.
