I really don't understand the bad reviews. I booked three nights here when I first arrived in Koh Tao and I've ended up staying for over a month! This place is fabulous, especially thanks to Gik and Fern, who are doing an amazing job here and are so friendly and helpful! Whether you're travelling with friends or on your own, you'll have no trouble meeting people here, everything is set up for it! I've never slept so well in any other hostel, the nine-bed room is very quiet and comfortable. No rats here, but squirrels all over the garden :D

Relaxed atmosphere, sofa & pool table downstairs to socialise. Punching back & other gym equipment free to use. Close to the ferry portđ
My only suggestion would be aircon in the private rooms as it gets too warm.

location in walking distance to the pier, free drinking water was provided, nice social area, everything on the island can be reached easily when renting a scooter
9 people dorm had bunk beds of 3 with no opportunity to sit up straight and quite warm air on the highest bunk, there was one toliet and shower for 9 people in the same bathroom, the staff wasnât very welcoming, about 30 mins walk to sairee beach main areas
