Country Lodge Motor Inn

Comfortable and clean

There was no shelf or anywhere in the bathroom to put my washbag and things

Location was fantastic. Cleanliness was outstanding for an older motel.

Exhaust in the bathroom.

Bed was good, nice to have 2 bedside lamps, aircon worked well. Overall general clean was good except for issues to be listed below.

The moment we first entered the room, there was a very strong stench of disinffectant, that clearly was hiding a foul smell eminating from the drains and pipes in bathroom. I had to run the water in the shower, sink and toilet to try and minimise the sewrage smell. There is some issue there, friends staying in surrounding rooms had same issue. The fridge/freezer also had an off stench when opened, it seems the ice build up in the freezer section retained rotten smells from what was in there previously, it needs to be defrosted and properly cleaned so as not to smell so bad. And most disappointing was the dispensers in the shower were empty, since they are not see through this was notrealised till the morning when we went to have showers before leaving, so it was too late to do anything about it, there was no staff at the office to inform, even though the sign said open from 8am. Staff should make sure that the dispensers are filled.
