We reserved a twin room (with two beds) which was quite roomy for a Japanese hotel room. It was also clean and quiet. The hotel provided everything we needed such as a hair dryer, washing towels, lounge wear sets, laundry, free ice bars in the evening, etc. It super convenient since the hotel was located directly in front of Ueda Station, and there is actually a restaurant inside the hotel. There were also restaurants in the same building just outside the hotel. Rinsen, the restaurant inside the hotel (located next to the front desk), happened to be a great restaurant with good selection of sake. The hotel also has a shared bath, one of them being a "roten buro" (outdoor bath). I was the only one inside around the hours of 5-6 p.m. (during dinner time) and a few people streamed in when I was getting out. I would definitely stay there again.
I wish the hotel offered a cocktail hour. A hotel in Kyoto that I stayed offered a nightly cocktail hour offering one free drink per person. All hotel guests gathered in the dining room which was kind of nice.
