When we arrived at the property we walked through the pub which appeared cosy and the staff were friendly. We liked how the rooms were out back so felt more private. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had all the things we needed.

We like the pub, the room size is really good, the bathroom likewise and the blonde lady behind the bar that we first met was really kind and helpful.
The 1st floor walkway to the stairs has a problem with its tiling and needs to be fixed, it feels strange and kind of unsafe to walk on. There is a light at the rear of the property that flickers like a strobe. It is unsettling. It looks like exterior lighting is left on in the day, which seems wasteful and unnecessary.

Where do I start - the room I was given first (No. 10) was perfectly fine and functional.
The breakfast was perfectly fine the following morning, although the options are a little limited and odd compared to many other hotels with cooked breakfast made to order.Â
Credit where it's due, the issues were all dealt with and overall the stay turned out ok, although cannot help the bittersweet aftertaste which means I will likely not be back.
Room was extremely cold - I understand that heating must have been on the summer mode still but in that case either portable heaters or aircon should be available.
Next up, bathroom, with a broken shower head which was carefully positioned on the edge of the bathtub - surely by housekeeping and not the previous guest as the room was clean. Why would you just leave it instead of fixing!?
Finally, the dinner - chicken korma here must be avoided like the plague, the most tasteless, bland and watery mush ever, resembles some chicken breast microwaved in a supermarket value curry sauce from a jar ... Awful!Â
All of the above was reported and after much deliberation and waiting for at least half an hour, the heating was turned on, I was moved to another room (No. 8) which was perfectly fine and even had a working shower. Oh and my dinner was refunded in cash.
