Excellent evening meal and breakfast. Good produce beautifully crafted and served. The room was very well appointed and had a superb bathroom. The bed was large and very comfortable. All staff were very welcoming and engaging. A lovely stay and we shall return. Thank you.

The location was excellent, particularly for anyone interested in King Arthur history and attractions. The room, despite not being the one originally booked, was comfortable and warm. Being located near the car park made it very convenient for taking the dogs out. Free parking was available once checked in, which was a bonus. The hotel was genuinely dog-friendly in terms of allowing dogs in the accommodation and public areas. The evening meal was very good, with generous portion sizes. There was a good selection of three ales available. The pub atmosphere was lively and busy, which created a good atmosphere.

On arrival, there were no dog-friendly rooms available despite one being booked through Booking.com. After some negotiation, a room was eventually provided, but it was an accessible room rather than the more expensive room originally paid for. The additional charge of £20 per dog was not clearly advertised at the time of booking. This felt excessive, especially for one medium-sized dog and one very small dog, on top of an already expensive room rate. The room had several maintenance issues, including bedside lamps that did not work because the bulbs needed replacing. The wet room layout was not particularly appealing. The carpet was heavily marked, which seemed odd for a room supposedly not designated as dog-friendly. Noise from the room above disturbed our sleep, with guests walking heavily around during the night. Despite requesting a table in the bar area, we were seated at a small table in the dining area that felt isolated and lacking atmosphere, almost as if we had been tucked away at the back. Food and drinks were expensive overall. Breakfast was disappointing. The bacon was cold, the mushrooms were slimy, and the advertised hash browns were missing, despite other guests receiving them. Service at breakfast was poor, with staff appearing uninterested and lacking customer engagement. Overall, the hotel felt overpriced for the standard of accommodation and service provided.
