Mar da Luz is a comfortable apartment resort in a peaceful location between Praia da Luz and Burgau. The accommodation is spacious, clean, with air conditioning, a terrace, and everything needed for a relaxed self-catering stay.
The facilities are excellent, including indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna, hot tub, spa area, and well-maintained gardens. Some apartments have private pools, while upper-floor units offer generous terraces and attractive sea views. The location is quiet and ideal for a relaxing break, though a car or bike is useful for reaching Luz beach, restaurants, and the surrounding coastal paths.
There were a few small improvements that would make the kitchen more practical: it would be helpful to have washing-up liquid and a sponge available, as these would make it easier to keep things clean between using the dishwasher. In addition, the frying pans were quite worn, with the non-stick coating largely gone. These are minor points, but replacing them would improve an otherwise excellent stay.

The apartment was lovely, comfortable, and very clean. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and we enjoyed cooking there. The resort was quiet and we were able to sleep restfully.
The location was very good. Central to beaches and tourist sites we wanted to visit. Although there were no stores and only a few restaurants in walking distance, we were able to manage very nicely with our car.
Carla, our host at reception was most helpful, friendly, and responded to all our questions thoroughly, with many thoughtful suggestions. We are most grateful to her.

Great place, very relaxing. Nice facilities. The apartment was amazing! Modern, had everything, bed was comfortable, persianas and aircon!
Staff were poor. Cleaned once in 5 days. When questioned, they told us on the Friday ‘as you’re going home tomorrow we aren’t cleaning today’
