The staff, lodges, food and game drives were all incredible. Fabulous suites. Our ranger Headman was very experienced, knowledgeable and kind and made our first African safari very special. It was worth the investment and the cost supports the foundation’s work in the local community.
There is nothing to dislike.

Authentic, felt like in the bush, luxury feeling, relaxing, great views, knowledgeable guides on safari, food was excellent
Cleanliness in rooms could have a bit more attention to detail for 5 star luxury accommodation.

Our stay at Pumba Game Reserve was a wonderful experience! The food was exceptional, with an outstanding variety of delicious snacks and meals. The quality, presentation and choice were consistently excellent. Even the cheeky monkeys looked for opportunities to enjoy the fine fare. Our accommodation was equally impressive. The rooms were beautifully decorated, spacious and luxurious, with attention paid to even the smallest details. The staff were friendly, knowledgable and nothing was too much effort. They added to the experience. One of my favourite touches was the evening turndown service. Returning to our room to find sweet treats, a hot water bottle and an African story placed on our bed each evening was such a special end to our day. These small, personal gestures added a sense of warmth and charm to an already luxurious experience. Thank you!!
Not a thing!! We loved it all!! :)

The Bush Lodge (2 nights) is in a nice location and is peaceful. Staff were generally very helpful. The rooms themselves were stunning, very large with lots of nice touches. From the terrace you could watch animals. The safari trips were well organised and I liked that you stayed with the same ranger/group for your whole visit, meaning viewings were well organised. I appreciated that staff/management did their very best to try and resolve the disappointment with our room, although ultimately it could not be changed. The Water Lodge (1 night) was stunning, overlooks a large lake with hippos and rooms were brighter and the whole lodge just felt more luxurious. Overall rating reflects the combined experience of both lodges, would have been higher if we had just stayed at the water lodge!
At Bush Lodge we were allocated a room with a view of the 'bush' - it was dark, dreary and offered no chance of viewing game. Plunge pool was dirty and uninviting. This is unacceptable when all rooms (view/no view) have the same pricing. There was nothing not to like at Water Lodge! At both lodges food was disappointing compared to other places with visited, just not very high quality. Breakfast at Bush Lodge was better than Water Lodge.
