We had a wonderful four-night stay at African Rock Lodge. The beautiful surroundings, peaceful atmosphere and unique African character made our stay truly special. The pool and relaxation area were lovely, and seeing a giraffe so close to the lodge was an unforgettable experience. The lady who looked after our room did a wonderful job every day, even preparing the bedroom for the night by lowering the mosquito nets. These thoughtful touches made us feel well looked after. The lodge was also a great base for exploring Hoedspruit and the surrounding area.
We enjoyed our stay overall and have no major complaints. The experience was memorable, and we appreciated the unique atmosphere of the lodge.

Bart and Elke were the best of hosts. The staff (Bussy in particular) were very good. The food was superb, make sure you book in for a dinner as Bart's cooking is first rate. We really appreciated the way one of our party was looked after when she wasn't well, above and beyond anything we have experienced before. We asked Elke and Bart to organise all our tours and experiences while we were there, and the companies they referred us to were excellent, from the Panoramic route, to the day in Kruger Park, as well as the boat trip on the Blyde Canyon. Their recommendations, such as the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre were also much appreciated.
Nothing, we loved it all from the warthog's daily visit to the excellent customer service.
