Our stay at Yasaka Yutone Kyokoyado was a wonderful experience and a lovely part of our trip to Kyoto. Both dinner and breakfast were fabulous—beautifully presented, delicious, and a real highlight of our stay. The private bathtub was fantastic, making it easy to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Such a relaxing place to spend the night!
Overall, a beautiful ryokan with wonderful meals, thoughtful hospitality, and a fantastic bath. We’re very glad we stayed here!
We had just two small reservations. Our room was on the second floor, and there is no elevator, so luggage needs to be carried upstairs. The staff kindly helped us, which we really appreciated, although we felt bad about them carrying our bags. We also heard what sounded like vacuuming around 7:30–8:00 in the morning; starting noisy housekeeping a little later would make the experience even more peaceful.

Evening dinner was prepared in front of us and beautiful presented and explained.Breakfast was a beautiful presented Japanese breakfast.

The staff were extremely helpful when I had to request that they help me locate my passport. An issue had arisen where I had a need to locate the passport at a previous hotel in Tokyo, which was causing me some stress. The staff immediately understood my problem, and called the hotel in order to make inquiries on my behalf. In the end I recovered my passport and proceeded to enjoy my stay in Kyoto.
I could have stayed longer but I was only in town for one night, the check in was quick and easy and the staff were able to understand my spoken English, and were lovely to deal with.

Peaceful and restful retreat, still in the heart of Kyoto.
Only criticism is that it doesn’t have spa facilities but I knew this when booking so absolutely fine !
