Beautiful old house! You get your own room fitted with tatami and futon. It’s basic, but I loved that. The owner is very friendly. It has a proper guest house feeling and it’s within the beating heart of Asakusa.

Location can’t be beat! Right down the street from the train and Asakusa. I stayed here for two nights with my mom and we both loved it. Owner was very friendly! Check in and out was very easy. We enjoyed our stay!

If you are looking to feel like you are traveling Japan in the 19th century, this is the hotel for you. Futons, tatami, shared bathroom, and indoor bugs since the windows aren’t real and the walls are made of paper.
For a mere 1000 yen more you could stay at a business hotel nearby with a private bathroom and a lock on your door that is not something a child would use to secure their diary. The innkeeper had also draped every available wall in sheets he was washing.
