What truly sets Saxon Lodge apart is the host. She brings genuine warmth, wisdom, and an authentic human touch to the stay that you rarely encounter in standard hospitality. You feel welcomed on a personal level rather than treated as just another booking. A quiet, homely, and comfortable stopover in Gansbaai made truly memorable by wonderful conversation.

The accommodation had a wonderful view of the harbour and the room was large and comfortable. The owners went out of their way to make time for us, even making booking enquiries for dinner. Delicious breakfast and a lovely atmosphere. Felt very homely. Will definintely return.

Breakfast just what I requested the night before. Agnes, who greeted me way after hours was incedibly thoughtful and kind. My clients, whose upmarket guest house could not store their luggage, was taken up the stairs to my room by Agnes. Fabulous. Thank you Agnes.
A small cake of soap in the bathroom basin could have been provided. The hot basin tap needed fixing, but I communicated that.
