The Priory Hotel

Good location, bed comfortable

Hotel apparently ran out of milk & short staffed so unable to provide any additional tea or milk sachets for the rooms. The store was locked and couldn’t be accessed. Staff appeared overwhelmed in the restaurant although not busy. However food excellent. Only one person serving at the bar and again overwhelmed by the amount of work to do. Inconsistent approach to check in on arrival for two groups.

Gorgeous location in the centre of the lovely Roman historic village of Caerleon. Hotel lovely - smart but in a nice understated way. Lovely bar, with such friendly staff. Very atmospheric. Room itself lovely and a good size though I hadn’t paid for anything deluxe. Was in a sort of wing out from the main place and I liked having my own entrance. Lots of character and lovely furnishings. Comfy bed, great pressure on shower. Good WiFi. Good refreshment tray.

Very little of significance. But there were just a couple of “style over substance” issues. I didn’t like having a fixed shower head located high on the wall - terrible for those of us trying not to get hair wet. Should definitely be adjustable in height. The bedside shelves were so full of furniture and decor there was barely anywhere to rest a book - a nightstand is not for show, it should actually be usable without having to move things off it first! The main desk was so wide I had to get down on my knees and crawl under it to put a plug in the wall. PowerPoints should be easily accessible. None of the above would stop me coming again but just offered by way of user feedback!

Amazing staff, room and food were lovely

Beautiful building and location

It was tired. Stupidly I opted for the ‘cosy’ room which Looked ok In the Photos but really wasn’t . It was tiny and extraordinarily Hot. Had the info said it was hot I’d have booked a regular room. Things don’t all work .
