My room got upgraded for free. My room was spacious and the bed was like a big queen bed. I borrowed hotel bike for free as the only bike rental was closed for holidays. I enjoyed my stay here a lot and got my biking and hiking activities all done smoothly. Super happy! Special Thanks to the hotel host for recommendation on Zwolferhorn cable car first where I saw the most amazing sea of cloud and enjoyed the nice Pillstein Panorama loop trail so much. A must go here apart from gorgeous Schafberg mountain train ride. Glad I chose St Gilgen to stay instead of more commercial or touristic St Wolfgang. Here is better. I went both.
Nothing really. St. Gilgen is one of the most beautiful towns in Austria as I traveled Austria twice within 3 years.

First-floor apartment: Clean room, comfortable, good wifi, free parking, 10-minute walk to our blissful pre-breakfast Wolfgangsee swim.
- the "view" is not from every room, ours was of a parking lot
- no coffee in the apartment. There's a coffee machine in the room but we had to ask for filters
- local tax payable on top of Booking.com
- the double bed can actually be divided into twin beds. If it said this in the description, it would attract more guests
- front-page photo of the private bathing area despite it being a 30-minute walk away. The landlord recommended the public lake access instead
- major road just behind the guest house, but a noise barrier cuts the traffic noise
