The staff was very friendly. The building was under construction, so the front desk had been moved to the second floor. I didn't realize this so I attempted to use the self-check-in device that was still located on the first floor, to no avail. The front desk attendant somehow heard this and came down to help me.
I'd also like to note that the door to my room was quite short and I almost hit my head on it. I'm about 6ft, so just a heads up for those taller.
It is a bit of walk from Matsue Station.

The staff was excellent, front desk team was super helpful with everything. They have us discounted tickets for the boat ride and organisier our luggage transfer. Super friendly and welcoming!
Location was good for castle, lake, boat, train to Izumo and art museum
Nice to have a Sento/bath as part of the hotel.
Supermarket directly in the building
Washing machines & drier worked perfectly for us
The rooms are really small and the air con just didn’t work for us. It was even with the weakest mode too strong above our bed and it was not possible to open the window for fresh air.
The additional costs for the roof top was not that convenient so we did not use it.
Building works in the main building - we were lucky to be in the annex with out huge building works.
