We love the Location of the Colon Hotel as it straight across from the Beach Small and Basic to our needs when we Visit Benidorm every October Plus the Weather is Amazing Sunny Warm . The Breakfast is Buffet 100perfect.

The hotel is central with everything you need on holiday within walking distance, restaurants are aplenty and Tapas Alley is very near the beach is opposite the hotel entrance and the room was cleaned every day.
No problems but probably the area could get a bit noisy in the middle of summer but October was fantastic. The room could do with morning coffee/tea / milk been supplied.

First, view was just aaaaaaaaaaaaamaaaazing I think we got the best room at best height. We could see the sea from the bed. Balcony was just fantastic for sitting in the morning or evening. As the hotel is in the beach area there has been some noise from people passing by but we do not have an issue with noise so it was not bothering us, we even slept with open balcony doors. Beds were very comfortable, rooms were clean with spotting few ants ones in a while, bathroom was clean, no complaints on that. We have not eaten in the hotel taverna as Ive not seen good reviews of it. Breakfast at the hotel was always the same every day and of average quality.
Receptionists were, additionally to being very friendly, they were veeeeeeery helpful and amazing in assisting in anything I needed in any time of day.
Hotel provides shower room for 20e, for the last day ones we checked out this was convenient option to get ready for the flight.
When we came to the hotel we realized there is no safe in the room, but we thought it is more safe to leave the money and passports in the room than to take it to the beach with us every day. My mistake was that I trusted, and assumed they do not have safes at all in the hotel. On the end of third day we realized some money was missing. I went to the reception as it was later at night , receptionist was very nice and helpful and then told me that there is a SAFE but NOT in the room. I was not aware until then. I was given a safe box that is in the hallway and from that moment on all was in order.
What surprised me was that management-owner has not shown more compassion to hear me out, even though I did not expect the money to be compensated as It was my word against theirs . I did get to talk to the management eventually but it was arranged because I was insisting on it. What I wanted was to state my case protect rest of my valuables, and give some improvement ideas, as what I found out is that they do not have enough safes for all the rooms and can not offer it to the customers, but give only to the ones that ask for it by themselves. I dont say customer is always right and to be trusted, but it should always be wished to hear out the customer even in this delicate situation when hotel management of course chooses to believe and trust their employees. I on the other hand as a customer also do not have any reason to trust after hearing "you might have misplaced it", "it might turn up", "go to the police" as not such customer oriented phrases. But It might be that I have also gotten very used to northern hospitality culture and expect that unrealistically.
My recommendation is when checking in to take a safe box if you carry cash with you or valuables.

Location is top. Just right to the seashore and plenty of food options. Staff is friendly and ready to assist.
The area where hotel is located is for older people. Very basic level of services. Luckily small fridge and aircon are there. Probably 3* level is properly assigned. Breakfast is also pretty basic without even fried eggs on offer. Cherry tomatoes are the only vegetable available and a couple of fruits. I`d not recommend to include breakfast as lots of food options around, so it is a money waster.
After each cleaning the room smells horribly chloridic and the smell stays long.
MiniSafe is available but not in the room.
