Everything was great, including the location, the apartment and the host.

Absolutely perfect location, in the shadow of the Duomo, so the Accademia Gallery which houses Michelangelo's David is at one end of the street and the Duomo Plaza is at the other end. Florence is a walkable city anyway, but this location puts every part within 15 minutes walk - Santa Croce one way, Piazza Della Repubblica and Ponte Vecchio the other, with the Oltrarno and the Pitti Place etc just a little further on. I was there in October so the crowds were more manageable, it may be a little too busy an area in the height of summer.
The studio was a great size, the bathroom is wonderful and the water is always hot. The kitchenette is very well equipped although I really could have done with it being bigger and being able to use more than one piece of equipment (hotplate, kettle, microwave) at a time, but its cuteness grew on me as the week went on. It has a Nespresso machine with pods to use with it, AND a moka pot (which I was happy to buy coffee for and loved using, I had one many years ago and it was like being in my 20s again). The towels get changed every 2 days. I was a bit concerned about the stairs but they are wide and I found them easy to negotiate. It was very quiet at night despite being in such a busy area.
The only thing that could have been better is the kitchenette but if that's the sacrifice one makes for a central aparthotel then I'll take it.
The WiFi didn't work throughout my last day and night and I didn't know who to contact about it.

Taro was very helpful in getting us checked in and giving us advice for restaurants.
Several nights could hear noise from drunks in the street. The owner has no control over this but people should be aware it could happen.

the location is super - in the center, next street to Piazza del Duomo. the rooms were clean. kitchen is inside - teapot, many cups and plates. bathroom was also clean.
the room is too old, even with cracks on the wall - the serious renovation is required. the curtains were dirty. the 2nd floor's ceiling was too low so we had to lower our head to avoid getting hit.
