Cristina, the housekeeper is really charming and as soon as we entered the accommodation he took the time to show us a tourist map of the city. Hot water and shower feels good. The location feels secure
For our taste, the room is very enclosed and does not allow ventilation or natural lighting. Also Sometimes the bathroom smelled bad

I stayed at Leone X for five nights in September and generally enjoyed my stay, especially the room itself and the hospitality.
The room was spacious, with very high ceilings and a beautiful tall wooden window with traditional shutters. I really liked the atmosphere of this historic Florentine building. The unusual vintage-style artwork above the bed added to its charm and made the room feel cosy and welcoming. The bed was comfortable, and overall, it was a pleasant place to return to after a long day exploring Florence.
The location was convenient, within walking distance of both Firenze Santa Maria Novella railway station and the historic centre, including the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore.
Davide was a very friendly and welcoming host. He provided instructions for self-check-in, allowing me to access my room before he arrived. He was always happy to answer questions, offered to help with local recommendations and even contacted me during my stay to check whether everything was going well. I really appreciated his friendly attitude and willingness to help.
There was also a shared kitchen area with a refrigerator, which I found useful for storing some of my food. Complimentary snacks, such as biscuits and packaged pastries, were sometimes available, which was a nice touch.
Overall, I really liked the character of the accommodation, its convenient location and the welcoming atmosphere. Considering the price for five nights in Florence, it offered reasonable value for money.
Unfortunately, the bathroom was the biggest disappointment during my stay.
A few days into my stay, I noticed water leaking from the connection between the shower hose and the shower head. I reported the issue to Davide the following morning, and he responded promptly, assuring me that they would fix it as soon as possible.
However, nothing had changed by that evening. When I returned the following evening, I found that the shower head had apparently been replaced with a different, larger one. Unfortunately, the connection was even worse: the hose would not stay attached to the shower head. When I tried to reconnect it and turned on the water to test it, the hose immediately came loose and sprayed water all over me while I was still fully dressed!
As a result, I had to shower using just the hose without a shower head on my final night. This was particularly disappointing because I had reported the original problem in advance, but the attempted fix ended up making the situation worse.
Housekeeping was another area that could be improved. During my five-night stay, cleaning appeared to be quite limited. The bins were emptied, but the bed was not made, the floor did not seem to be cleaned regularly, and I did not notice any towel changes.
The old wooden windows also let in some street noise, although I understand this is partly due to the character of the historic building.
Finally, there is no lift, and the accommodation is located a couple of floors up. This was mentioned in advance, so it wasn't a surprise, but it's worth keeping in mind if you're travelling with heavy luggage.
Despite these issues, I generally liked the accommodation. However, the bathroom maintenance and housekeeping definitely need improvement.

Good location, good air conditioning, good size room.
Communication, was at the property on check in time with no instructions. Had to call the number and got no response. Responded 5-10 minutes later with instructions.

Walk was 13 minutes from the station and easy to find
The property is next to a very busy road which was very loud even for a heavy sleeper like me. The noise stops 12:30-5:30am but other than this it’s very busy with cars
There was no iron available to use which would have been helpful given there are around 5 or 6 rooms at the guest house
The doors are all very loud - we often heard other guests enter at 1am & 2am which woke us up
Room wasn’t cleaned in 3 days (even though signs said it would be after 2 days)
There are lots of stairs and no lift so be wary if this is an issue with luggage
