Puri Taman Sari Resort

We were lucky enough to find and choose this homestay resort and it turned out to be the best overall accom from our trip. The Puri Taman Sari checked all our needs effortlessly: gorgeous and quiet surroundings, beautiful and comfortable room (the bamboo house), clean and well taken care of shared areas, gardens and pools, really well decorated space and most importantly: really well decorated with local art and furniture, no stupid signs or ads in common areas, no AI posters… all important signs were very well integrated in the decoration and every tiny corner had everything on its place… you could feel the sensitivity and good taste of whoever created the space. GOOD local music well chosen for each moment of the day, good and kind workers, good local food… I could go on and on and on… haha So congrats to everyone involved in making this space so enjoyable and please, do not change and become one more. Authenticity is scarce. Would 100% go back and forth many nights.

De locatie was voor ons een plus. Het personeel was bijzonder vriendelijk en we hebben er heerlijk gegeten.

Geen minpunten voor ons te vermelden. Geen tv op de kerk was voor ons geen gemis.

We arrived to find ourselves the only guests for a couple of days, while the village who runs the homestay type of accomdation set up and decorated for a large group of European tourists. Large bedroom, outdoor shower area. The infinity pool over the rice patties was interesting to watch the birds and farmers at work. Food on menu is geared towards Europeans, with little chilli added, which was a surprise after several weeks of travelling here. I appreciated being able to pay for the meals with credit card, and activities by cash. We asked the property to arrange a local driver to transport us to the airport (1.5 hours away), and we were supplied with a safe and considerate driver who delivered on time. Service was authentic considering the village / homestay atmosphere. Occasionally checking in on those by the pool would result in a higher purchase of drinks. Activities included rice field/village tour, massage, cycling and visits to the local UNESCO temple. Valued the quiet atmosphere within 1.5 hours of Denpasar airport.

Activity descriptions and prices might be listed on a pamplet for guests to consider. Verbally hearing of the options upon arrival was difficult to make a selection. A map of the surrounding area for guests to explore the village would be useful. Repairing or replacing the three sun lounges which are unusable at the moment would be appreciated, as would providing umbrellas or shaded lounging areas. Clearing the slippery moss around the pool area would be good as well. Would appreciate lighting of mozzie coils around the room each evening, as well as a tv for raining evenings.
