The room (31) was spacious and had a small balcony with a table and two chairs, with view overlooking the city. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and bathroom excellent. The electric blankets were welcome on a cold night. Spotless cleanliness, good supply of tea and coffee, etc, and larger-than-average refrigerator. Bathrobes also provided. Within walking distance of the CBD and multiple dining options.
The lift was out-of-service, not mentioned anywhere on the website, nor provided in any communication - including on arrival. Had to walk up four flights of stairs. Vacated the premises at 7.30am the next morning but could find nowhere to put the key so we left it locked in the room.

Lovelly atmosphere. Maintains its period character with a touch of modern facilities for comfort. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
Nothing.

Great location provided easy access to local attractions.
We arrived early. Our own fault. Initial reception from young staff member was great and indicated no problem. A clearly stressed older staff member scolded the young employee in front of us and said no accomodation available until an hour later. We opted to sit in our car to wait. Saw several arrivals go in and not get rebuffed - they may have been guests who were already staying there. No problems later when we went in again and staff were very accommodating, including taking a heavy bag upstairs to our room. The lift was out of order.

Room was spacious, but the lift was out of action (not listed on Booking.com) & it required walking up 40 stairs. In our 70’s it was difficult.
The stairs & no breakfast was offered.
