Fantastic leisure facilities.
The pool & gym are hidden away but way more than you'd expect for a hotel of this standard.
The bedroom felt really homely. A bit tired, but very cosy, not just a clinical hotel room
The lounge and bar has loads of character with historic exposed stonework.
The corridors to the bedrooms are a bit tatty

The swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Room was spacious enough. Breakfast was really good and plentyful. Staff were nice and friendly. Top friendly marks to the gentleman leisure attendant who made you feel at ease and nothing was,too much of a problem, great guy.
Bedroom myself and my wife were in didn't have heating and there was water damage on bathroom ceiling unlike our son's bedroom which was warm. The staff member at reception when we arrived did not come over very friendly, she told us we had to walk outside and go around the back of the hotel to get into leisure facilities but did not explain why we had to do this while it was raining, we found out from the nice staff leisure attendant gentleman that the usual route to leisure inside the hotel was flooded.

Leisure staff were super friendly and nice.
Halloween decorations at the pool were fantastic
Gym was very large for a hotel
Food was good.
Nice atmosphere
Bathroom was a bit rundown.
Could hear the people above us walking very loudly as floorboards were VERY creaky.
Waiting staff at the restaurant didn't seem to know what they were doing

Good location with parking. Helpful staff. Pool, sauna, Jacuzzi ok but changing rooms/showers a bit tired. Lounge area with sofas is nice. Breakfast was good but would like more choice on cooked menu.
Shower in room was pretty bad, mattress a bit hard. Not much character in room- could do with some pictures, colour etc. Hotel is nice enough but a bit tired and was lacking in atmosphere when we were there.
