We had a wonderful stay at Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives and would like to thank the entire team for making our holiday so special. The resort offers the perfect value for money, with excellent service, a welcoming atmosphere, and plenty of activities for families with children. Our favourite restaurant was definitely the Thai restaurant. Despite our children sometimes being a little noisy, we were always welcomed with kindness, patience, and warm smiles. We truly appreciated how comfortable and welcome the staff made us feel. The room service was outstanding. A special thank you to Samsul, who was always attentive, thorough, and thoughtful. He not only kept our room spotless but also made sure to inform us about any small issues that needed attention. What made him truly special was his creativity and kindness towards our children. He made a little bird out of leaves and even a crab, which made our children incredibly happy. These thoughtful gestures created lovely memories for our family. We would also like to thank Yaeesh, a very kind, young, and capable team member who served us in the morning at the Reef restaurant and in the evening at the Italian restaurant. His friendliness and professionalism were much appreciated. A big thank you as well to Alisher at reception for his kindness and helpfulness, and to the lovely lady working at the Reef restaurant who speaks Russian. Unfortunately, we cannot remember her name, but we would like her to know that we appreciated her warm service. We also really enjoyed the live music, which was especially delightful for our youngest son. It added a lovely atmosphere to our evenings and made our family experience even more enjoyable. The kids’ club was another highlight of our stay. The activities were wonderful, with plenty of games and creative arts and crafts to keep the children entertained.

My stay at this beautiful island resort was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of crystal-clear blue ocean, powdery white sand, and the peaceful atmosphere of a tropical paradise. One of the highlights of my stay was the incredible house reef surrounding the island. This is my 7th time in Maldives and this is the best house reef I have seen in Maldives. Snorkeling directly from the resort was an amazing experience, with vibrant coral, colorful tropical fish, and an abundance of fascinating marine life just beneath the surface. There are sharks, turltes, nemo fish and many more amazing marine creatures. The diving experience was equally spectacular, offering the opportunity to explore the underwater world and appreciate the beauty and diversity of marine life up close. Beyond the natural beauty, what made my stay even more special was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming, always making sure I was comfortable and enjoying the time on the island. Their genuine smiles and thoughtful service added so much to the overall experience. The beautiful birthday celebration, complete with a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine and a thoughtful card from the hotel, was an absolutely unforgettable touch. The combination of the stunning blue ocean, pristine white beaches, beautiful house reef, unforgettable snorkeling and diving, and wonderful hospitality made this stay truly special. It is a place where you can relax, reconnect with nature, and experience the magic of an island paradise. I left with wonderful memories and a deep appreciation for this beautiful destination. I would definitely come back here again and again.

Everything it was fantastic

Food could have been better

The reef. This resort is sitting right on top of a terrific reef that is easily reached snorkeling from your over water bungalow! Spectacular! We also took excursions to snorkel with Manta Rays and Whale Sharks. The Manta Rays were incredible, entertaining us for more than an hour. Unfortunately the Whale sharks were shy. All the staff at the resort were extremely helpful and friendly.

Seaplane transfers are fun, but Centara's Seaplane transfer logistics were abysmal. We stayed in Male for two days prior to our stay. We were able to do the transfer anytime that day. Despite this, the resort was unable to confirm a time for our transfer until after 7pm the night before. OK. The time they gave us was 8:30am check in for a 9:30am flight. When we checked in at the airport, we were given tickets for a 1:30 pm flight! A total waste of our time and a horrible intro to the resort. While waiting for our flight at the seaplane port, Centara Marketing sent me an email asking how it was going? I gave them an update expressing my disappointment. I have still not had any response to my email. Seaplane departure was a known bad connection. Upon arrival the luggage delivery service sent us to a paid waiting lounge for our initial 3 hour wait - probably the worst lounge experience I have ever had. This at least made our second 2 1/2 hour wait in the actual airport lounge seem luxurious.
