On the outside the cottage wasn't much to look at, but when we arrived inside it was so welcoming, warm and cosy. It was lovely! There were lots of little touches. For example, heating was on for us, a diffuser made the place smell lovely, The bedrooms were clean and cosy. It was in a quiet area off the main road, easy to get in and out of with a vehicle (some of the other cottages are not so easy).
When arriving at the cottages, I needed help accessing the instructions because my emails were not able to be accessed. When contacting Booking.com for assistance, (the contact number given) the woman I spoke with was very unhelpful and not particularly polite. Eventually I figured it out. We had difficulty finding the cottage because it was not located with all the others.

What a cute cottage, it was warm comfortable and well equipped. We stayed in the Little Dipper. It is old, but clean and so spacious. It was nice not to share a room with my Mum for a change. The shower was huge, the water pressure excellent and the hot water plentiful. Easy check in with excellent communication from the reception. There were a lot of stairs for my elderly Mother, but once up she didn't need to go down again till check out, and I should have researched it better. We would have enjoyed a longer stay.

The hot tub was great and the beds were comfortable.
Very poor customer service and issue resolution! Unfortunately we discovered the fridge in the kitchen area was malfunctioning on the first morning after discovering our food hot and spoiled. When mentioned to the housekeeping staff they said this was a known issue and maintenance has been notified, yet they did not put an out of order sign on the fridge or notify us! I have asked Tekapo Cottages for compensation for spoiled food and 5 days later they are 'still investigating' and have not offered a solution. Unacceptable customer service!
