An excellent country hotel with a difference. This was the former home of Laura Ashley and her husband, Sir Bernard. The public rooms are numerous and decorated to the highest standard by the Ashley’s. Everything in the hotel was beautifully maintained (plumbing etc) and the garden is close to being restored to its former glory. It was a real privilege to stay here.
A lift to the second floor would be great if it could be installed without detracting from the heritage status of this magnificent house

Lovely grounds. Great lounge areas with real fires. Very comfortable bed. Beautiful, clean bathroom. Friendly staff. Tasty breakfast with good options

Full of character. Great location
I suspect that dogs had stayed in our room. I am allergic and started to wheeze. I felt the food was rather overpriced for what it was. The lunchtime menu looked excellent. How about making that available at night as well.

I asked the manager did they sell or have any paracetamol for my wifes headache he bit my head off he needs some people skills !
