Fabulous building set in a stunning setting. The staff are exemplary and provide the highest standards of good old proper service. Room was spotless, exceptionally comfortable (great view of the Lake) and very quiet. Dinner (Dining Room) was excellent, with a great choice of wines, along with an excellent Cumbrian breakfast (cooked fresh and served to the table). Our first time at Armathwaite, but having tried other named hotels in the Lake District we would can only offer the highest possible recommendation.
Nothing.

Beautiful grounds and views of Lake
Stunning building and lounge areas
Fabulous bedroom, very clean, we opted for the garden suite and wow it was fab! Very quiet night sleep as well
Staff very friendly, attentive and professional
Be aware that if there’s a wedding on you won’t be able to access certain areas without feeling like you’re in the way 😅
The spa was lovely but beds are limited and there were no food. We didn’t realise and hadn’t eaten all day, so a tip to eat before you go!

Lovely building and rooms decorated to a high standard
Broken tv but fixed by evening of second day. One bed not comfortable due to creased mattress protector. Likely because it was brand new. Disappointing that swimming pool out of service.
