Farnham House Hotel

Lovely peaceful setting

A lovely old building set in a lovely location which was also convenient for a work event. My room had a door to the garden which I appreciated

There was no drinking water in the room, I also found hairs in the bed and everything smelt of febreeze so I didn't feel like it was completely clean

The hotel was accessed via a long drive from the main road, so it was very quiet, the grounds were well maintained. The building being a period building, with sensitive modernisation having been carried out to make it suitable for modern living . All the staff were attentive, cheery and willing to talk, when they wern't busy, a consideration when you are a single traveller. The full English Breakfast was one of the best I have had at a hotel, cooked to order-- not in heated trays, when the eggs are rubbery, sausages tough, bacon stale. etc. Served with a smile by a nice waiter. I am not connected with the hotel in any way but stayed there for a Wedding at a local venue. We are all quick to criticise when things are not right. But praise should always be given when things are very good.

I couldn't fault it.

Good location. Friendly staff.

The hotel and our room was bitterly cold. Twice we mentioned it at reception and was told it may have been switched off and then it operated on a thermostat. My husband was a heating engineer and knows full well how radiators work!!!! Also there was no mention of the events on both days and only breakfast was available.
