This is my fourth year visiting Kraków, and Hotel Columbus has been one of the most pleasant surprises. Its location in Kazimierz is excellent, with major attractions nearby and tram stops just a few steps away in both directions.
The cleanliness is absolutely exceptional! Despite the muddy streets and ongoing construction work in Kraków, the hotel’s beautiful red carpets were spotless. My room on the fourth floor had a lovely view of Wawel Castle, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a box of chocolates and a welcome card waiting for us.
The room was cleaned daily, fresh towels were provided every day, and we received complimentary bottles of still and sparkling water. The windows offer excellent sound insulation, so the room was wonderfully quiet despite the central location.
Breakfast was very good, with plenty of options. Coffee lovers can also enjoy espresso for an additional charge (around 8 PLN). The hotel also has a lovely inner courtyard with tables and chairs, perfect for smokers or anyone who wants to relax outdoors for a while.
I have stayed in dozens of hotels across Europe, and I can honestly say that the level of cleanliness and attention to detail here exceeded my expectations for a three-star hotel. I felt genuinely welcome and comfortable throughout my stay.
I would happily return to Hotel Columbus and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kraków!

Quiet, comfortable room, easy check in, friendly staff, great breakfast
Air conditioning didn't quite work, but I didn't raise this while I was there so it may have been an easy fix. There definitely IS aircon, but maybe the remote wasn't working?

Do not be put off by the colour of the decor. The room appeared to have been newly decorated, it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Fresh towels were provided every day and the room smelled lovely and fresh. I'd requested a room at the back of the hotel and was given room 17 which was perfect. The staff were very polite and helpful if required but not pushy. The breakfast was good quality and sufficient for our needs. We were going on a trip with a 7am start and the hotel packed us two lunch bags with sufficient food and drink for breakfast and lunch. The location was perfect, in the Kazimierz district but not far from the Old Town. We actually preferred Kazimierz with its excellent choice of restaurants and cafe bars etc. Starka restaurant is superb but you need to book. We got the train back to the airport, there was a platform just a few minutes walk from the hotel. We would not hesitate to stay at Hotel Columbus again. Thank you.

The view & the peaceful location
Uncomfortable mattresses which gave us both backache (really need replacing), tired decor with chipped paint etc, shower over bath, rather than walk in, with old fashioned shower curtain which was so long it got under your feet, lots of stairs including concrete ones at the top exposed to the elements (wouldn't fancy it when icy), top concrete walkway to get to apartment covered in leaves which made it slippy. Were not swept away during our 4 day stay. Overall expected better for the price paid.
