bathroom was great. well heated. nice touch of snack and beer on arrival.

we thought we were booking a traditional old pub like one in The Chickpea Group, but it is an old pub with a new wing, like a motel, attached to the car park.

All great, only issue was getting a twin room when had booked a king room but appreciate that's probably due to the integration between booking dot com system and the pubs system not quite matching accurately.

Only the twin/king room issue other than that all good

Good location, ability to charge the electric car and, best of all the staff

We were given a twin room but that was very quickly changed to a double. However, the heating in the room was not working

It’s a great location and a lovely pub.

The pub area is nice, the area at the bottom of the staircase, the staircase and hallway leading to the rooms are very grubby and dirty, but also used as a store for paper towels and other stuff. The room was nice enough, but the tower fan in the room had no remote control and no switch to manually turn it on… not that we could find. The fridge on the wall is a nice touch, but hummed and creaked all night. The breakfast is an ordeal rather than a pleasure, there are certain members of staff, that have been on duty, when we have stayed before, that just need to up their game or be gone. We had to ask for our order to be taken, then had to ask for it to be bought to the table… it was cold. The way I see it, it’s a staff problem. If the cleaners we better at their job the place would be cleaner, if the front of house staff were more attentive and approachable, eating there would be much more pleasurable. I try to get on the River Test to fish, once a year and my wife and I make a long weekend of it. Stockbridge is a lovely place to spend a bit of time. But I think we’ll try and find somewhere else next time. To be honest that is part of the problem there’s not much competition.
