Had a quiet and comfortable night’s stay at the Carlton. Lovely twin room with lots of space and light. Great view over the rooftops of Forres. Friendly and helpful staff. Good continental breakfast.
The shower in the shared bathroom on the 3rd floor is out of action so had to go downstairs for a shower in the morning.

It was very central in Forres and was cheap good value for money (you get what you pay for). It is also in an imposing (Victoria era?) building.
The rooms were essentially ‘bed sits’ and the property is more a hostel than a hotel. The entrance via a dark dingy public bar is not welcoming.
