Beautiful historic property. Restaurant at the same location.
Very disappointed in the customer service and lack of food after hours. I arrived on a Sunday night and was not able to order dinner via room service until around 8pm. The receptionist also would not accommodate more than two toppings on an omelette. For this price point of a hotel, I expect higher customer service. After waiting over an hour for room service and calling downstairs with no answer, I walked down to the reception desk and was told that the restaurant had lost my ticket and was now closed. She said there was no vending machine or market with snacks available either. The receptionist did nothing to recommend other restaurants for me except to say that I could walk to a grocery store which was unsafe at that hour. I ended up having to wait until past 10 PM for delivery from a Chinese food restaurant. It is not safe to not provide guests with an alternative source of food after hours, especially people who are traveling from far away. There was also no air-conditioning, which is typical for England, but made the room uncomfortable.
