The place and room with a big window was so beautiful . Also all staff were very friendly and welcoming. Plus, everything was so clean without smoking smells.

This is an historic building from the 16th century and Èvora's oldest hotel. Our room had AC and a shuttered doors that opened to reveal a Juliet balcony. The room was large, with two single beds, a desk and chair, and an armoire. I usually give 10 when I rate beds, unless there is a serious issue, as everyone's taste is different, but this was the most comfortable bed I slept on in the 3 weeks we were in Portugal. The staff was fabulous, very friendly and helpful.
Coming from the main square on foot, you can either go up a long flight of stairs or walk a little further and walk up an incline. Once you are inside the hotel, there are 2 flights of stairs to reception. We walked this many times, including with our luggage the first time, as we had walked from the bus depot. Then, one of the reception staff let us know that there is a back door that taxis and Uber drivers bring people to that negates going up the stairs to reception. This was great news as we also walked back to the bus depot with our luggage. There are also stairs from reception to upper floors, no lift.

Location is excellent and a great value. Decor was amazing. Staff friendly. The veranda for pizza or wine and cards was really sweet. Loved the view out my window. Felt very old world elegant

It’s an interesting and historic property in the centre of Evora. The pillows and bed were comfortable
Although I appreciate the old architecture, the building needs some upgrades to make it more appealing. The reception staff did not explain very much about how to enjoy common areas. As well, it is extremely difficult to navigate the maze of narrow streets and find parking. There should be a warning to anyone who tries to book this place.
