A vacation with a view

The position of the property was amazing, with wonderful views of Old Town Dubrovnik from the balcony. The host was very friendly and welcoming.

The air conditioning system ia placed in the living room and it barely manages to cool down the entire apartment in the summer weather.

Good location. Older place. Lots of stairs.

Close to old town and beach.

It was quite an old place. The washing machine was mouldy and didn’t work. The host ended up doing some washing for us which was nice. There are lots of stairs so not good for kids and lots of baggage. It rained everyday so we couldn’t sit outside on the furniture.

This is an excellent value and a perfect location for people who want to enjoy old Dubrovnik and the beach!

Very clean, comfortable bed, great view, welcoming host and a fantastic location.

Beautiful location, but insufficient attention to safety and maintenance

The view from the terrace

We travel frequently and fully understand that in a historic city like Dubrovnik not everything can be perfect or modern. However, this stay was unfortunately a disappointing experience for us, mainly because of safety concerns. The many stairs in Dubrovnik are part of the city’s charm, and we had taken that into account. What we did find difficult, especially at our age, was that part of the stairs leading to the apartment had no handrails at all. This makes the apartment less suitable for elderly guests or people with limited mobility. The most unpleasant incident happened upon arrival. The handrail on the staircase leading from the entrance to the first-floor apartment turned out to be loose. As I pulled myself up using the rail, it came off the wall and I fell down the stairs together with my luggage. Fortunately, I was not seriously injured, but the situation could easily have ended differently. The handrail was later reattached, but we found the owner’s reaction rather distant and lacking in concern. That feeling stayed with us for the remainder of our stay. The bathroom also did not feel particularly safe for older guests: the shower is inside a bathtub with a high step and a slippery bottom, and one of the grab handles was not firmly attached. Especially after the incident with the staircase handrail, this did not inspire much confidence. In addition, the apartment showed several signs of poor maintenance. The inside of the refrigerator door was broken, making it unusable for bottles or storage, there was visible mold around the window frames, the paintwork was peeling, and the exterior shutters were clearly in need of maintenance. We rarely write negative reviews, but we feel it is fair to mention these points so that other travelers — especially older guests — know what to expect.

Mycket nära strand och gamla stan. Fantastisk utsikt mellan träd när mot hav och stad.
