About this cottage rental
1 Bedroom cottage in the picturesque village of St Margarets Hope. The property consists of downstairs a fully fitted kitchen and living area with a sofa bed. Upstairs is the bedroom with king size bed and separate w/c shower room. Free wi/fi. There is ample free parking outside. The property is less than 1/2 mile away from the Gills Bay ferry and on the bus route which has a regular service to Kirkwall and Stromness. The village of St Margarets Hope has shops, pubs, post office, and a coffeehoose that sells local crafts and Orkney produce. There is a 9 hole golf course, tennis court , bowling green, 2 play parks and a fitness suite all within walking distance of The Noust. There are some lovely beaches and cliff side walks nearby. On the slip outside the door of The Noust there can quite regularly be seals lying.

Great sized cottage for a stay in Orkney, it is well equipped and is very cosy.A short drive if coming over on the Pentland ferry, St Margaret’s Hope has 2 well stocked shops and a new playground for kids.Great for sitting out on the rocking bench just watching the ferry come in and chatting to passers bye and locals.

A great place to stay 40 yards from the bus stop to Kirkwall and 700 yards from the ferry terminal you can’t ask for better

We enjoyed our stay. It was comfortable. The bathroom was well lit and really liked the side shelves for storage. The shower was really nice. The stair treads up to the bedroom are a little narrow -- with my bad hip I had to be particularly careful about my foot placement. But that comment goes for all of Orkneky! :-)There was room for all of our stuff. Would have liked a few more kitchen devices (e.g. good bread knife). But I understand we cook more than most people. I wasnt used to the electric stove but it worked well and I got used to it by the time we left.
