The location is very good. A tram stop on Collins Street is about 100 metres from the front door. There are cafes and restaurants, Woolworths, BWS, a chemist al within a few minutes walk.
Our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment was comfortable and reasonably well equipped. A lovely view over Victoria Harbour from our 9th floor apartment.
We received nothing from Melbourne Private Apartments until 24 hours before check in, despite booking and paying more than a week earlier.
When we did receive an email, we were driving to Melbourne from Canberra and were advised that we were required to pay a $300 “bond”, read and sign all their pages of terms and conditions and collect our key from another address.
When we got to the key collection address, it was locked with a sign on the door saying “back in 5 minutes”. A quarter of an hour later no one had opened the office and other couples were eating collect their luggage before going to the airport. I found a number and called them. I then received a call back and was given a code for one of 6 or 8 lockboxes hanging on the outside of their front door. A very poor reception indeed! Nobody opened their office in the 30 minutes I waited there.
A couple of days later I sent them an email asking for more dish washer powder, as the two sachets would not last us a week. We never received the courtesy of a response, let alone and detergent.

Location for trams and woolworths
No cooking trays/containers for oven. No coffee machine. No tea towels. Poor quality bathroom accessories. no small table for drink etc on outside balcony. 1 lounge for up to 4 people. Queen bed converts to 2 singles but join was no a smooth match in centre. No chest of drawers or similar in either room.

The balcony and the view
The apartment was unclean (hair on the bedroom floor), as well as there were so many bugs we found dead on the shower floor and around the toilet. We had to leave a day early, and wasn’t able to get a refund on the accommodation. (left early due to flight changes)
