We had a wonderful three-week stay at this home on Hodgdon Island and would absolutely recommend it as a comfortable base for exploring the Boothbay region.The location is fantastic-close to great restaurants and attractions, yet tucked away in a quiet, safe neighborhood. One of our favorite parts was watching the nearby osprey nest from the porch while relaxing in the rocking chairs.The house is exceptionally well stocked with everything we needed, including soap, dish detergent, sponges, tissues, laundry supplies, kitchen utensils, dishes, games, fans, binoculars, and other thoughtful extras. The Wi-Fi was excellent, the smart TV worked great, and there was plenty of comfortable seating. We also appreciated the Keurig, ping pong table, large laundry room, screened windows, great showers with reliable hot water, and the convenient layout with all the bedrooms on the main floor.A few things to know before booking: you’ll need to put the sheets on the beds when you arrive, and you’ll want to bring your own shampoo. There’s no air conditioning (common for coastal Maine), but the fans kept us comfortable. Trash must be taken to the local transfer station, there’s no direct water access or dock for the house, and the bedrooms don’t have blackout curtains. We also encountered ticks outdoors, which is common in Maine during the summer.Overall, this is a clean, comfortable, thoughtfully equipped home in a beautiful location. Lisa was very helpful, & we’d happily stay here again!

An absolutely lovely and scenic spot! House is very comfortable and has an exceptionally well equipped kitchen. Master bed very comfortable and the linens are top quality. We will stay again!

The VRBO house picture doesn't do it justice. The setting was absolutely beautiful. A serene coastal setting with all the relaxing sounds and sights. The deck view was amazing and the living room and master wall of windows provided a lovely indoor outdoor feel.The house itself is spacious casual with everything you need for a relaxing comfortable visit. The hostess was personable and responded immediately to our questions. Our girls trip was a great success with the house being centrally located minutes from the botanical gardens and from BBH shopping and excursions. Highly recommend!

This home is in a nice location and we enjoyed the views from the living room and deck. The house was also very clean. Unfortunately I was so overwhelmed by the intense air freshener smells and musty odor that I had difficulty sleeping the first night. I had to air the house out a bit. The musty odor was coming from the first level but could be smelled on the second as well. It’s the only issue I had with the place but unless it was resolved I wouldn’t consider returning.
