About this cabin rental

A big thank you to all of our five-star guests! We have two-person canoe, two one person kayaks, and two paddle boards for your use. Also, The Old Log Cabin has a smart TV, so that you can mirror streaming services from your smart phone. In addition, COMCAST WIFI and streaming, fast speed internet, great reception.
You will step back in time when you stay at this preserved historic log house (circa 1790). The old log house is now equipped with a galley kitchen that has an electric stove, ref., sink, blender, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, and stacked washer/dryer. There is a dining area adjacent to the kitchen, as well as another on the lake front outside porch. The second room on the main floor is a living area with TV/DVD, futon, and hammock which is great for naps.

The second floor of the log home has a bath with pedestal sink, toilet, and bath tub. There are two bedrooms upstairs (one large bedroom with two twin beds and a queen bed; the second bedroom with a queen bed). Each bedroom has its own pedestal sink. But don't worry, this old log house now has central air conditioning and heat as well as a fireplace and wood stove downstairs!

This interesting and unique old log cabin is located on very private, wooded property and is geared to outdoor fun and living. In addition to the inside bathroom, there is an outdoor shower with hot/cold water. A covered outdoor cooking area with a 5 burner gas grill, under counter ref. and water is available for added convenience. If you prefer cooking out with charcoal or wood, there is also a lakeside fire pit and charcoal grill with water. The dock area is large, with a table, umbrella, slide, and rope swing. The beach is sandy and gently sloping which is great for small children. Also, two kayaks along with other lake toys are available for use. The fun won't stop when the sun goes down, because the dock, all cooking areas, and paths are well illuminated with outdoor lighting.

This property is located on a peninsula in a small community with a quiet private road that's great for family walks or jogging.

What a sweet little cabin! We enjoyed our stay so much! You can really see the time and love put into restoring this cabin everywhere you look. David obviously gave a lot of attention to detail during the restoration. We think the pictures here don't really do it justice. The cabin is well stocked too. Turns out we brought too much stuff as all we really needed were clothes, fishing gear, and food! There are tons of water toys and life jackets in the shed...spices, sugar, etc in the kitchen. Lots of dishes and utensils, a decent amount of pots/pans, and soaps, shampoos, and more. We had one towel per person so a couple extra would be nice but not a huge deal. Our kids loved the big room with 3 beds. The master bedroom bed is VERY soft. We prefer a more firm bed and realized just before leaving that the queen bed in the other room was much more comfy (for us). One thing I didn't notice before arriving was that the bathroom only had a tub and no shower. So if you prefer a shower, there is a very nice outdoor shower (hot and cold water and plenty of privacy). We didn't mind this at all...it was actually nice showering in nature with the tall trees above. The lake levels are currently way down so it was not safe to use the slide or swings during our visit, but we still enjoyed the dock and playing in the water and loved the convenience of having the lake right outside the house! We were only there a few days but hoping to visit again when we can stay longer! So peaceful!!

Excellent location for recreation. The host designed the cabin with immense consideration and thoughtfulness. The aspects of central/South American culture was a wonderful addition to all of the handmade furniture, hand wrought hardware, and delightfully comfortable environment. 10/10 would return

We loved our stay in the old house! Our fond memories include the swing, the fire pit and fairy lights and the outdoor shower!
