Getting from Brazil to Rote is, on paper, a daunting thing. But the owners of Manduna quietly took every thread of that journey — the flights, the airport pickup, the surfboards, all the small in-betweens most places wouldn't think twice about — and wove them into something so seamless we barely had to think. We just… arrived. Already looked after. That is a rare, generous gift to hand someone before the trip has even truly begun.
And then the days themselves. The private boat sliding out to breaks no other hotel on the island can reach. Boards and motorcycles just *there*, offered with an easy smile and no strings. Evenings at the restaurant, where the full-board menu kept surprising us, night after night. The slow ritual of the sauna, then the sharp gasp of the ice bath — the only one on the island — pulling the ache from our shoulders after hours in the water.
But what I'll actually carry home isn't the waves or the facilities. It's the people. Elias, Dena, Inki, Nenti, Ike, Max, Yogi, Yonix, Aldo — and every person behind the scenes whose name I wish I'd caught. You made us feel less like guests and more like friends someone had been expecting. You noticed things before we asked. You made it all feel so easy, and so warm.
To the owners, and to every one of you: thank you. For the logistics, for the care, for the quiet grace of it all. We left softer than we arrived. We'll be back.

We had such an amazing stay at Manduna Resort in Rote. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcome and looked after.
The resort is beautiful, peaceful and incredibly well maintained. Our room was gorgeous, comfortable and spotlessly clean, and we loved the facilities, especially the sauna and yoga. The beach is absolutely stunning and the perfect place to relax and switch off.
The food was another highlight — everything was fresh, delicious and beautifully prepared.
But what really made our stay special was the staff. Everyone was so kind, friendly and helpful, and we felt completely safe and well looked after throughout our stay.
We honestly loved every minute and will definitely be coming back. We’ll also be telling all our friends and family in Australia about Manduna. It’s such a special place and we can’t wait to return.

Manduna Resort is a beautiful little gem in Rote. From the stunning surroundings to the peaceful atmosphere and warm, genuine hospitality, everything made our stay incredibly special.

Direct access to the nice sandy beach
First, water pressure for shower is a big problem for full occupancy, water stops in the middle of my shower and won’t resume until the rest of the guest in is done showering.
But the worse problem was the staff attitude. The check-in manager and kitchen manager were unfriendly almost unwelcoming. Instead of coming to us in person to collect ID, they whatsapp me to do their job, and we are big group, and most of the time always in the resort swimming or hanging by the restaurant, when they see me in person on the last night I told them to collect per room instead since everyone is here, they RAISED their voice at me saying they asked twice but not given when it was all done via whatsapp. They see us everyday in person but never asked in person until that very last night. Very unprofessional and rude. Also, the discrimination in treatment made me uncomfortable. Kitchen chef was not ready to serve the breakfast at 7 because they need to prepare at 5am for another guest who is gone for surfing but when I request for breakfast to be on time at 7 since I need to leave for my diving trip it was refused saying it was troublesome which does not make sense at all. The foreigner guest was also attended to first when I was clearly there first, even making that other guest uncomfortable who kindly let me be served first.
