Secluded and quiet property on a private road with a quintessential Maine waterview with abundant wildlife (ospreys, porcupines, turkeys, deer, etc). Yet, all within short drives of nearby attractions (lighthouses, hiking preserves, beaches, McLoons Lobster Shack, to list a few). The house was comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our week of R&R.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hawkweed Cottage is well-equipped for visitors and super-quiet for great sleep. I would definitely recommend to visitors to the area!

Charming and as advertised. Quiet area, beautiful. Small and cozy but we needed nothing more. It was pet friendly for our small dog. Water was hot, good grab bars in the bathtub. Beds comfortable. Can only imagine how lovely it might be in summer on the river. Def need a car. Used the Keag Store closeby more than once. Scenic restaurants a short drive, Rockland and Camden nearby. We did need to go into Rockland for a laundromat once, but it fit into our schedule easily. Gas grill worked well. Would book again if we return. Scenic bliss.

We had a wonderful stay! The view was outstanding, the peace & quiet was restful, the deck was great for relaxing. The cottage has a lovely rustic charm, but was very clean and had all the moden amenities. We were impressed with the attention to detail: there was dish soap & sponge, hand sanitizer, hand soap, roll of paper towels, napkins, and garbage bags for the kitchen trash!!. In addition to stove & fridge, there was a microwave, toaster oven , toaster, coffee maker, coffee grinder, and pots & pans in useable condition(not always the experience in previous rentals). Had a good selection of utensils, mixing bowls and measuring cups, a hand held mixer. Made the cooks in the family very happy!! There were plenty of good pillows on the beds, two extra blankets, two beach towels, two oscillationg fans for warm afternoons or evenings. We felt very well provided for!! Just what we were hoping for!
