Hale Ilima is an upscale beach cottage in the true sense of the word. It’s delightful island style architecture and design will delight you in every way. There are 3 generous size bedrooms with 2 baths. The high ceilings and abundant windows bring the light and the breezes in, to give it that tropical feel.
All new 500 ct. bed linens and thick towels await you. There is a King, Queen, and twin bedroom to accommodate every travelers needs. The twin room can be made into a King as well for couples traveling together.
A new 40’” LCD TV with cable, wireless internet, and free local and long distance calling are just some of the special features we offer.
Everything you need for a beach vacation is here from beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels and umbrellas, and did I mention the ocean, sun, and surf? A short 5-minute walk to a lifeguarded beach insures your swimming safety. This begins a nearly deserted stretch of white sand that goes for miles…..all the way to the Na Pali Coast. Venture off to Polihale Beach, a wild natural beach, with majestic sand dunes serving as a backdrop.
Take a hike in the Waimea Canyon, the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific” as Mark Twain called it. Instead of driving for hours to get there from other parts of the island, you are only a mile away from the back road leading directly to the top of the canyon and the NaPali coast cliffs.
A stop at the Shrimp Station, or Island Tacos, for lunch will make the wait worthwhile, finished off with the island’s best sno cones at Jo-Jo Shave ice.
If it is a resort atmosphere and dining experience that you are looking for, you are only 25 minutes for the resort area of Poipu Beach. Here you will find world famous hotels, coves of white sand, upscale shopping and dining opportunities.

DO NOT BUY COOKING OIL! There are like 5 bottles in the cabinet!Sliding doors to Lanai are difficult to lock. Using a stick as a lock. Had to use a mop handle as a lock stick. Could use some security updates.Very hot and stuffy in house upon arrival. Took several hours to cool down. AC in all bedrooms. Master bedroom is the hottest room. Twin bedroom and queen bedroom temperature is good. Master bathroom window doesn’t open to ventilate for shower. The instructions ask for you to turn off all ac and fans when you leave for the day. That’s painful. Recommend to host to turn on AC 1-3 hrs in advance of guest arrival. Many people have solar panels to help with costs. Plenty of bath towels, beach towels, other guests left behind shampoo, conditioner, body wash, aloe gel, 3 hair dryers, wash and dryer with laundry soap. We are leaving behind mineral sun screen. Had to buy TP mid trip. Provided TP is only 1 ply. Master bathroom right window does not stay up for ventilation, had to use a piece of mop handle to hold open the window. Left window is fine. Master bed is comfortable but creaky.Lanai was nice in the mornings and evenings. Lots of seating inside and out. Board games and books were a nice touch. TVs only in master and in living room. Window ACs in each room. Washer/dryer in hallway restroom. Hallway restroom does get very stuffy even with AC on. Bathtubs in both restrooms are challenging to get in and out of for people with mobility issues.

Nice beach house, looks out over the water- comfy and clean. Host was flexible and great to work with! The actual beach was only about a 5 minute walk to an uncrowded beach. House has A/C window units but we really only used the bedroom ones at night.

The property has a lot of potential but it needs to be upgraded, specifically the floors, baths, and kitchen. The location is in the outskirts of Waimea, the surrounding communities are populated by locals which provide an opportunity to see how they live and how this area differs from the more touristy sections of the island. With a little TLC, this property will be fabulous as the view of the pacific ocean from the second level is spectacular. The property comes with all beach accessories and has AC in all rooms except bathrooms. We recommend providing more beach towels, we only had 4. Keenan the maintenance man was very responsive when we found some issues upon arrival related to plumbing, etc. Overall we had a good time at this home which could have been enhanced if the property is modernized.
